This workshop explores artistic audio description (AD) as an embodied and choreographic practice within dance and performance. It builds on Jana Griess’ work as a dance artist, dramaturg, and researcher across different disciplines, as well as her experience making audio descriptions for stage and site-specific works.

This project is a homage to the legendary drummer and bandleader Art Blakey, and especially to The Jazz Messenger's golden period in the late 50s. The band is a young star team that has selected a bunch of Art Blakey's "bangers", and will convey the core of his sound while at the same time adding new, modern impulses to the interaction.
