Bento boxes are often elaborate and colorful, and the contents are a few or three notches above the sturdy Norwegian food package. So too with the trio Bento Box! An acoustic sound combined with non-traditional instrumentation gives room for improvisation and not least digging into unexplored rhythms and melody lines, and the music has drawn inspiration from folk music and classical as well as free jazz.

This talk examines the stylistic patterns related to gender and social class in two gay male subcultures: drag queens and bears. In both groups, challenging gender is conveyed in large part through challenging norms associated with social class. The talk presents a framework for understanding how sexual and gender minorities innovate new linguistic and stylistic patterns. FREE event.

Arabic and Norwegian folk tunes meet in a wonderful way when Khaled Habeeb and Astrid Garmo play together. Khaled Hab (oud) originally from Syria, known for his album Spor fra Nord with songs influenced by Arabic and Norwegian folk music. Astrid Garmo (Harding fiddle, fiddle) from Lom in Gudbrandsdalen and is known to many from the band Pumpegris and her solo album Sjugurd.
