Mountains on Stage is a film festival that aims to bring the mountains into cities with a selection of the world's best films related to mountain sports.
🎥 DAMNATION
On the surface, Damnation may resemble a film noir, in the way it combines a crime plot and a love triangle with a cynical nightclub singer at its center. But that's only on the surface. Elements like the relentless rain, the stray dogs, the dilapidated tenements and the dirty bars are all more than environments – they are reflections of the characters' mental states.

🎥 TEARS OF THE BLACK TIGER
Part homage and part parody of the classic western film, Tears of the Black Tiger is a cult film you don’t want to miss on the big screen. The film’s style may seem very sweet and innocent at first glance with its charming Thai soundtrack and pastel colors, but don’t be fooled! The film is at times ultra-violent with style inspirations from, among others, giallo, both in camera angles and blood effects.

Seven and a half hours in the company of pessimistic Hungarian peasants. A cult classic and a dark and suggestive masterpiece. Béla Tarr's monumental film version of Lázló Krasznahorkai's debut novel Satantango.

Trondheim Film Club presents: After slaying the Arthurian legend and lampooning the Christ myth, the Pythons chose to return to their sketch comedy roots, hearkening back to their era-defining work on Monty Python’s Flying Circus, with their final feature, Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life.

🎥 STARS IN BROAD DAYLIGHT
Director Ossama Mohammed's debut depicts the Ghazi family, who are preparing for two weddings. The family is dominated by an authoritarian older brother, a metaphor for the country's regime. The film is a demonstration of the artistic skill of the director, who uses a coded visual language to circumvent censorship. The film was banned in Syria after one screening in 1988, but was distributed in Europe. After Mohammed criticized the regime during the 2011 riots, he went into exile in France.

Trondheim Film Society is serving up new quiz rounds, just as varied and surprising as before. Regardless of whether you know a little about everything, a lot about something, or almost nothing: Bring some film-loving friends and put together a quiz team of up to four people. Come have a drink and test your film knowledge in cozy surroundings. Registration is free and the actual registration takes place at the event.

A beautiful film in its own class, and a must see. The Film Club shows this film in collaboration with Cinemateket Trondheim and Kjetil Schjander Luhr.

🎥 THE PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK
The Panic in Needle Park is an American drama directed by Jerry Schatzberg, where we meet Al Pacino and Kitty Winn in the lead roles. The screenplay was written by Joan Didion and John Gregory Dunne, and is a film adaptation of the 1966 short story by James Mills.

Three sisters retreat to their family vacation home to process a difficult event. When they learn that their mother has passed away, the two oldest sisters decide not to tell their youngest. As secrets and lies come to light, they receive an unexpected visitor.

In connection with PoMo’s current collection presentation of the Congolese-Norwegian contemporary artist Sandra Mujinga (b. 1989), and in the lead-up to this year’s Kosmorama – Trondheim International Film Festival in March, PoMo, Kosmorama and Cinemateket Trondheim invite you to a guided tour of Mujinga’s exhibition and a special screening of the documentary Soundtrack to a Coup d’État (2024) at Cinemateket Trondheim.
